Team Leader

The café Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the café, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and high-quality service experience for customers. 

This role involves managing colleagues, coordinating front-of-house activities, addressing customer concerns, and supporting the café manager in implementing operational policies and procedures. 

The Café Supervisor ensures a welcoming and professional environment while maintaining high standards of service.

Café Assistant

Our Cafe Assistants play a versatile and vital role in delivering a high-quality customer experience across all areas of the café.

From crafting expertly made coffee, greeting guests, managing orders, to maintaining cleanliness and supporting service, this position combines the responsibilities of a barista, server, runner, host, and cashier.

The ideal candidate brings energy, teamwork, and attention to detail to every shift, helping create a welcoming and efficient café environment.

Front of House Manager

The Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the front-of-house operations in the Café, ensuring an exceptional customer experience from arrival to departure. 

This role includes managing colleagues, handling customer concerns, and working closely with the kitchen and management teams to ensure smooth operations. 

The Front of House Manager sets the tone for the café’s ambiance and service standards, ensuring that customers feel welcomed, valued, and well taken care of.

Store Person

The Store Person is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and organisation of stock in a safe, efficient manner. 

This role involves tracking inventory, handling deliveries, and ensuring that items are stored and rotated correctly. 

The Store Person supports the kitchen and service teams by maintaining well-organised storage areas and monitoring stock levels to ensure supplies are readily available.

Sous Chef

The Sous Chef is the second-in-command in the kitchen, working closely with the Senior Chef to ensure efficient kitchen operations, high-quality food preparation, and smooth service. 

This role involves supervising kitchen colleagues, assisting with menu planning, and managing kitchen inventory. 

The Sous Chef also steps into the Senior Chef’s role in their absence, helping to uphold standards and provide an exceptional dining experience.

Kitchen Assistant

The Kitchen Assistant plays an important role in supporting the kitchen team, assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. 

This position involves working closely with chefs and kitchen colleagues to help prepare ingredients, manage inventory, and maintain high standards of hygiene and organisation in all kitchen areas.

Kitchen Porter

The Kitchen Porter is an essential member of our kitchen team, responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and support within the kitchen. 

This role involves washing dishes, and ensuring all kitchen areas meet health and safety standards. 

The Kitchen Porter contributes to a smooth, efficient workflow and helps create a pleasant environment for colleagues and customers

Pastry Chef

The Pastry Chef specializes in creating and preparing baked goods, pastries, desserts, and other confections. 

This role involves developing dessert menus, overseeing the pastry section, and ensuring high-quality standards in taste and presentation. 

The Pastry Chef combines creativity with technical baking skills to enhance the dining experience, often working closely with the Senior Chef to complement the main menu.

Kitchen Mananger

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the efficient preparation and delivery of high-quality food while maintaining a safe, clean, and organised kitchen environment. 

This role involves managing the kitchen team, monitoring inventory, and enforcing food safety standards. 

The Kitchen Manager plays a critical role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations, controlling costs, and supporting a positive and productive team environment.

We are aiming for a Summer 2025 grand opening of the new Great Shelford Greenhouse Café. 

No, the new Greenhouse Café will replace the existing Sunflower Café with an enhanced customer dining experience.
