Warehouse Manager

Warehouse Manager

Job description

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and hands-on Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily running of our main warehouse and several smaller storage units. With responsibility for a team of six to seven staff (including delivery drivers), this is a key operational role ensuring that stock, logistics, and warehouse processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely every day.

Reporting directly into the Group General Manager, this position is ideal for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor looking to step up, or an established Manager seeking a new challenge in a busy, fast-paced environment. You will play a vital part in maintaining high standards of organisation, accuracy, and professionalism across all warehouse operations.

Main Duties:

Operational Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the main warehouse and multiple satellite storage units.
  • Ensure stock is received, processed, and stored accurately, efficiently, and in good time.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety throughout all storage areas.
  • Support smooth coordination between the warehouse and other departments across the business.

Team Leadership

  • Manage, motivate, and support a team of warehouse operatives and delivery drivers.
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, and staff training.
  • Create and manage staff rotas, ensuring full operational coverage—including weekends during peak seasons.
  • Lead by example to promote a positive, reliable, and accountable team culture.

Decision-Making & Standards

  • Take a firm but fair approach to upholding processes, safety practices, and operational standards.
  • Make clear, confident decisions under pressure without compromising efficiency or safety.
  • Encourage consistency, accuracy, and pride across all warehouse activities.

Systems & Logistics

  • Use warehouse and logistics software to monitor stock levels, process deliveries, and maintain records.
  • Ensure accurate digital documentation, labelling, and stock movement tracking.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and streamline processes.

Compliance & Safety

    • Ensure all health and safety regulations, manual-handling procedures, and company policies are followed.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and support readiness for internal or external audits.
    • Promote a safe working environment and oversee checks of equipment and storage areas.

Requirements of the Role

  • Proven experience in warehouse supervision or management.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support a small, diverse team.
  • A hands-on approach with a willingness to participate in day-to-day physical tasks.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Confident, assertive decision-maker able to stay calm under pressure.
  • Basic working knowledge of logistics, warehouse, or stock management software.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Additional Information

  • Weekend work will be required on a rotational basis.
  • You must be physically capable of engaging in manual warehouse tasks when needed.
