Cafe Assistant - Sunflower Cafe Fordham

Job description

We are looking for a friendly, reliable Sunday Café Assistant to join our Fordham team and help deliver a welcoming café experience for our customers.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining customer service, food and drink preparation, and maintaining a clean, inviting environment. If you enjoy working with people and being part of a team, this could be a great fit.

Main Duties:

  • Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages.
  • Greet customers warmly and assist with menu queries.
  • Take orders and process payments accurately.
  • Deliver food and drinks to tables, ensuring accuracy and presentation.
  • Clear, clean and reset tables.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation across all service areas.
  • Assist with restocking supplies and managing waste and recycling.
  • Support colleagues during busy periods to ensure smooth service.

Requirements of the role: 

  • Previous experience in hospitality, retail or customer service is helpful but not essential
  • A positive, friendly attitude with good communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and carry trays.
  • Reliable, punctual and flexible in supporting different café tasks

Full training will be provided, including food hygiene.

Rate shown is for those aged 21 and over, competitive rates for ages 18 – 20.

Job Types: Part Time Sunday 10am – 4.30pm

Pay: £12.25 per hour
