Kitchen Porter

Main Duties:

• Unload plate trolleys and stack crockery and utensils to be loaded into dishwashing machine
• Spray clean items and scrub and wash heavy duty items such as pots and pans for chefs
• Unload dishwashing machine onto trolleys to be wheeled into café for service staff
• Safely and tidily put away kitchen equipment according to kitchen layout
• Ensure that all work areas and equipment are kept clean and tidy at all times
• Kitchen duties to include sweeping and mopping of floor and cleaning surfaces
• Empty and replenish heavy duty bins, both general waste and food waste
• Use and maintain correctly dispensed cleaning chemicals
• Basic delivery duties – movement of heavy loads, recycling, organising fridge and store areas
• Effective communication with colleagues to ensure as organised a workplace as possible

• Able to thrive at physical and hands-on work.
• Willingness to follow tasks and requests from senior kitchen and café team members
• Enjoy working alongside colleagues and also on your own when needed.
• To comply with all food hygiene, Health and Safety at work, COSHH, and Manual Handling regulations
