Job description

We are looking for friendly and reliable Shop Floor Cashiers to join our Horningsea team. This customer-facing role is key to delivering a positive shopping experience, handling transactions efficiently, and maintaining a welcoming, well-presented shop environment. In quieter periods, you will also support the wider team on the shop floor, assisting customers and helping with general retail duties.

Main Duties:

  • Greet customers at the till point and process transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Handle payments using cash, card, and mobile payment methods
  • Issue receipts and provide correct change in a timely manner
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised till area, ensuring equipment and supplies are well stocked
  • Assist customers with product queries, promotions, and general shop information
  • Support shop floor activities during quieter periods, including tidying displays, restocking, and customer assistance
  • Handle customer questions or concerns in a professional and friendly manner
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and high customer satisfaction

Requirements of the Role:

  • Previous cashier or customer service experience is desirable but not essential
  • Good numeracy skills and attention to detail when handling transactions
  • Friendly, approachable, and confident communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Willingness to assist on the shop floor when required
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and carry out general retail duties

Job Types: Part Time – Temporary – Saturday 10am – 2pm

Rate shown is for those aged 21+, we offer a competitive rate for those aged 16-20.

Pay: £12.25 per hour
