Garden Care Manager

Main Duties:

• Oversee daily operations and seasonal layout planning in collaboration with the Category Buyer.
• Drive sales performance by maximising customer flow and retail standards.
• Lead and inspire the Garden Care team, conducting regular 1:1s, setting targets, and managing rotas, holidays, and absences.
• Perform keyholder duties and handle escalated customer complaints professionally.
• Collaborate on visual merchandising and maintain accurate POS and signage.
• Monitor departmental sales figures and work with the Category Buyer to improve product performance and stock turnover.
• Ensure stock handling procedures are followed, including delivery checks, shrinkage control, and credit note processing.
• Uphold health & safety standards and maintain a clean, welcoming department environment.

Requirements of the Role:

• Proven retail management experience, ideally within a garden centre or similar retail environment.
• A confident leader with strong interpersonal and team development skills.
• Commercially aware, with a keen eye for retail trends and customer behaviour.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and EPOS systems.
• Comfortable with physical aspects of the role and being present on the shop floor.
• Able to handle customer concerns and security matters professionally.
• Knowledge of stock management and visual merchandising best practices.
